From 2011-12, Patten advised Alasania’s Free Democrats party, which played a critical role in the Georgian Dream coalition’s victory in national elections. Today, the Free Democrats are among Georgia’s most promising political parties as the country prepares for elections in the fall. In 2008, Patten shadow-managed the parliamentary campaign for the then-governing United National Movement of former President Mikheil Saakashvili.
